Logonix ADSL

What is Logonix ADSL?

Why settle for Traditional ADSL when you can have Logonix Advanced ADSL?

Logonix ADSL is a robust and high-speed Internet access service provided by Logonix Corporation. It is delivered via your existing telephone line but unlike dialup Internet access it does not tie up the phone while you use the Internet. You may talk and "surf" at the same time! Access speeds can be greater than 15 times that of old-style dialup connections. You are "On-line...All the Time" with Logonix ADSL Broadband Internet Service.

Our standard ADSL offering is a twelve month contract, but we also have custom college student contracts based on semester, school year, or calendar year. We also offer month-to-month contracts at an additional monthly fee.

Step 1: Get some pricing information

The service pricing is indicated in the table below.

Connection Type Maximum Speed (Download / Upload) Monthly Cost One Time Activation Fee Equipment Installation
Dial-up Buster 384Kbps / 128 Kbps $26.95 Everyday Low Price! This is NOT a promotion! $70.00 Free MODEM Kit included with subscription of one or more years Self Installed
ADSL 768Kbps / 128Kbps $43.95 $70.00 Free MODEM Kit included with subscriptions of one or more years Self installed
ADSL 1.5Mbps / 384Kbps $48.95 $70.00 Free MODEM Kit included with subscriptions of one or more years Self installed
ADSL 3.0Mbps / 768Kbps $55.95 $70.00 Free MODEM Kit included with subscriptions of one or more years Self installed

The modem kit is a complimentary part of the service so you will not need to purchase a modem. The kit includes one phone filter (needed for a phone that shares the ADSL modem line). Additional filters (one is required for each phone that shares the line) can be purchased from Logonix for $2.50 each if you need them.

The modem kit is designed to be installed by end users, but Logonix can send a technician to your location to help you install the modem kit if you desire. There is a charge of $75.00 per hour for the technician's labor--talk to us directly for more details.

Step 2: Prequalify your telephone number

ADSL is limited by distance from the local phone company's central office and by the quality of the various interconnects between you and the local phone company. We pre-qualify your telephone line by checking your phone number against a special proprietary database that the telephone company provides to us. The process takes only a few minutes and we can quickly let you know if your phone number qualifies.

Important:  Do not use the phone company's website to pre-qualify your line directly--it will always receive a failed qualification result because the database used there is not the same database used by Logonix. You must submit your pre-qualification request through Logonix Corporation to receive an accurate and confirmed qualification.

Business Customers:  If you have a multiple line phone system which uses a "hunt" or "roll-over" feature, then we must qualify it on a single line phone circuit such as a FAX line, credit-card machine line, etc.

You may request a free pre-qualifcation test by coming to see us at our office (527 East Grant Street in Macomb), you may call us at 309.836.7343, or you may submit this online form right now and we will call/email you with the results later.

Note: all fields must be filled in. ADSL requests are processed during normal business hours and the results of your qualification status will be e-mailed to you within one business day depending on our request load.

Step 3: Place your order

Once you have received a successful pre-qualifcation result from Logonix Corporation and you have determined that you wish to order the service we have some things to do.

First, you will need to come to our office to sign the service agreement. The agreement is a simple contract that outlines the usage policy, monthly charges, due dates, etc.

Second, you select an email address and password for your Logonix account. This is very important because service-related messages and billing information are sent to you at this address. We understand that you may have another email address that you prefer to use, and we can certainly allow for forwarding from this new Logonix email address to your other address; however, we do require that this new Logonix email address be our contact email address for you. It may be in a form like either of these:

where mailboxname is a name of your choosing and subdomain if used may also be a name of your choosing.

Third, you will receive a Logonix ADSL modem kit to use with your service. The modem will be returned to us (with all cords and power supply) upon termination of service and there is a form for you to sign when you take the modem. The modem kit is designed to be easily installed by any end user, but we can send a technician to your home or business to connect everything for you if you prefer not to connect it yourself (there would be an onsite service charge for the technician's labor).

Step 4: Setup the equipment

The equipment needed is minimal:

You provide the computer with ethernet port and a telephone line. Logonix will provide the ADSL modem and one filter for your telephone (additional filters may be purchased from Logonix if you have more than one telephone sharing the line).

When you activate your Logonix ADSL subscription we will provide you with a self-installation ADSL MODEM kit to take with you. This MODEM kit is fully documented and the connectors are keyed and color coded to help eliminate an incorrect installation. A filter is provided to plug your phone into (additional filters can be purchased if you have additional phones)--this filter is very important because it is what allows you to use the telephone at the same time you use the Internet--each phone must have a filter if they are on the same line as the modem.

Basic installation with a single computer is as simple as plugging the modem's ethernet cable into your computer's ethernet port and setting your computer up to obtain network addresses automatically. Sharing the ADSL connection with multiple computers is almost as easy. Just get a DSL router/firewall which provides network address translation capability and dynamic configuration capability. Plug your computers into the firewall and plug the firewall into the modem. Please see our Resource Center for more details.

If you get everything hooked up but are unable to get the connection to work please give us a phone call for assistance.

We can have a technician perform the installation for you if you prefer. See the information in "Step 1: Get some pricing information" for the technician's labor cost.
